HALLOWEEN HUMOR

Filed under: Humor — bunchesofos @ 2:13 am

Snow White and the seven dwarves were walking through the forest.

Unfortunately the dwarves did not see a gaping hole in the ground and ended up falling in.  Snow White was distraught and was sure that her seven little friends had perished in their terrible fall.

Suddenly a voice shouted from the hole:  “Brett Favre is going to win this weekend!”

Snow White gasped.  “Well, Dopey’s still alive…”

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Why waste my time?

Imagine this scenario: you apply for a job, go for the initial interview, wait two weeks and then get an email from the manager that they want to meet with you for a half-an-hour regarding the position.  What would you think?  I think most would believe that it was a good sign they were going to be getting the job.

Well, this exact thing happened to me recently.  I anxiously waited for the manager to show up only for him to tell me that I did not get the job and that he had wanted to tell me personally.

Although I felt it was somewhat more “personal” to tell me face-to-face than on the phone, I found it to be a total waste of my time and it was something he could have told me on the phone or even in the email he sent to me.

Some people just need to think….

The balloon has burst…

and rightfully so.

I’m glad the hoax caved in for the Colorado balloon dude who thinks life is just one big reality show after another.  I don’t know what’s worse…the fact that he tried to scam everyone in believing his kid took off in a weather balloon or that he made his kids lie about it.

Gee, I wonder what those kids are going to be like as adults…

The week of lust…and blackmail…on Letterman

Filed under: Entertainment, Things that make you say "hmm..." — bunchesofos @ 2:22 am

The story about Letterman’s interoffice “fling” didn’t surprise me.  In the world of entertainment, you’d be shocked to learn who is doing who, when and where.  I don’t condone what he did but I don”t agree with him being blackmailed.

I’ve seen this same thing happen to an artist I knew.  Some celebrities seem to think they become invincible when they are given fame.  They feel all powerful, like they can have it all and not have to answer to anyone about what they do.  But they forget who put them where they are and they forget the ones they allegedly love.  A lot of people get hurt.

Letterman’s case is no exception.  And the most guilty party is Letterman himself.  No amount of apologies will ever erase what he did.

When you’re just not getting what you need from your doctor…

Filed under: Things that make you say "hmm...", Things that piss me off — bunchesofos @ 7:21 am

do you stay or do you go?

I’ve enountered such an issue with the doctor I have been seeing for many years.  Although the thought has crossed my mind more than once to leave, I have stayed.  However, due to my latest poor treatment encounter with the doctor, I have finally made up my mind to leave.  For good.  Actually, I feel like never seeing another doctor ever again.  Nothing against any doctors out there.  I know there are good ones.  However, the ones I’ve been to, whether it be my primary care or a specialist, all seem to be a bunch of quacks who want your $20.00 and want you in and out as soon as possible.

I think we all know the medical field is a big joke in some ways.  And doctors make money based on their quota (the more in, the  more money…so they spend 30 seconds with you and you’re out).  Honestly, if I’m going to see the doctor and spend $20.00 to do it, I’m going to get my money’s worth.  I’m not just going to get my blood pressure checked and not have any of my other questions answered.  My doctor couldn’t even tell me how much the dosage was on the medication that she had prescribed me!  She couldn’t even find it listed in my chart!

So I’m hunting around for a new doctor, one who will listen to me, keep track of my medical chart, know how much my dosages are on my medications and will try to help me out with answers to my questions.

If I’m supposed to be getting what I’m paying for, why do I feel that my $20.00 is being wasted?
