I saw a very touching story on Headline News this afternoon regarding Hunter Winship and his goal to break the Guiness World Record for collection of paper airplanes.
The significance is that Hunter has a form of lymphomic cancer but he’s not letting that fact stop him from achieving his goal. To date Hunter has collected over a million paper airplanes. And they keep coming.
It’s really ironic because just this past weekend I asked my husband if he knew how to make paper airplanes. Just out of the blue. Mainly to entertain our two-year-old. He said he did but when he went to make one, he couldn’t remember how. So he looked the directions up on-line. Then he spent the rest of the day making all kinds of paper airplanes, much to our daughter’s delight.
I’m going to try to find out where to send this kid a paper airplane and I’d like to encourage everyone who reads this post to do so too. Hunter’s hoping to reach his goal by his birthday in June. God bless the kid…
