I wonder if she’ll make a jaunt to Connecticut to pop into Bella’s for a bite while she’s here…or maybe buy some more Hungarian paprika….hm….

Bella’s Gourmet Bistro’s special guest…
There is a great new gourmet bistro that opened in Putnam, CT about two months ago and it’s called Bella’s (for beautiful food). Not only do they make a mean panini and fab gelato at this stylish Italian-style eatery, they have a great owner too (just a little plug for my sister-in-law)…:)
Anyway, today Bella’s was visited by a well known member of the Hollywood society named Renee Zellweger. She walked into Bella’s around 11:00 a.m. (around the time they open) with a gentleman in tow. My sis-in-law didn’t even know who it was until her assistant pointed her out. Then my sis-in-law and Ms. Z chatted it up for about a half hour. Turns out Ms. Z has a cozy little country place down the street in Pomfret. My guess is she was in the area to do a bit of antiquing (as there are MANY shops in the area) and dropped into Bella’s for a bite (actually I was told she did get a gelato…good move, Ms. Z!). I have a feeling she had been in the area before and was looking for the establishment that used to be there before Bella’s. By the way, Ms. Z was not wearing makeup and was donning sweats…
Before Ms. Z left she also picked up a couple of bottles of the exotic Hungarian paprika (which is so hard to find…but not at Bella’s!).
So that is today’s claim to fame…a little touch of Hollywood in little ol’ Putnam, CT. How cool is that? I hope Matt Damon shows up next! Or maybe Tom Brady? I know he’s just bought a house in Thompson…hm….
